This pivotal role will modernize and digitize regulatory processes, leveraging cutting-edge technologies like Generative AI, Structured Content Management, and integrated data to streamline content creation, review, and approval. You will be instrumental in sourcing, analyzing, and standardizing data, building and maintaining robust data pipelines to drive business actions and automation. This position requires a deep understanding of data architecture, ETL processes, and experience with big data technologies, contributing to Amgen's leadership in regulatory innovation. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, navigate complex operational systems, and ensure data accessibility, reliability, and efficient management within a cloud-based environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and implement scalable data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and data integration solutions.
- Manage and monitor workflow schedules to ensure timely pipeline execution and failure detection.
- Lead end-to-end data integration projects, managing scope, timelines, and risks.
- Identify, extract, and integrate business data from operational systems in cloud architectures.
- Analyze schemas and source system tables to map business concepts.
- Deconstruct information models into granular, business-contextualized data components.
- Gain business domain knowledge by navigating application UIs and backends, identifying data inconsistencies.
- Align applications with architectural and development guidelines in conjunction with Enterprise Data Lake teams.
- Partner with data scientists to create pipelines addressing dynamic business needs.
- Utilize cloud platforms like AWS and Databricks for building scalable data solutions.
- Apply code versioning using Git, Jenkins, and relevant migration tools.
- Stay abreast of emerging data technologies and industry trends.
- Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), GDEs, and standard practices for development and testing.
- Demonstrate a proactive approach to learning and embracing new technologies and responsibilities.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Computer Science or Engineering with 0-1 years of experience, OR
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering with 1-3 years of experience, OR
- Diploma with a minimum of 4+ years of relevant work experience.
Required Skills:
- Hands-on experience with data platforms such as Databricks, Python, Prophecy, Gitlab, and LucidChart.
- Proficiency in SQL for data analysis and experience with data sourcing tools.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with large, complex datasets.
- Understanding of data governance frameworks, tools, and standard processes.
- Knowledge of data standards (e.g., FAIR) and compliance regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with ETL tools and Python packages for data processing and machine learning.
- Solid understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and data integration.
- Familiarity with Python/R, Databricks, and cloud data platforms.
Certifications:
- Certified Data Engineer / Data Analyst (Databricks certification preferred).
