Associate Data Analyst – Looker

We are searching for a skilled Visualization Expert passionate about transforming complex data into compelling narratives and impactful stories. This role involves designing intuitive dashboards and visualizations to empower business decisions. You will operate at the nexus of data engineering, cloud platforms, and machine learning, bringing next-generation AI solutions to life through powerful visual representations.

Collaborate with ML engineers, data scientists, and product teams to visualize diverse data, including model performance metrics and generative AI insights, utilizing tools such as Power BI, Looker, and Google Cloud Platform.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain interactive and user-friendly dashboards in PowerBI and Looker, prioritizing clarity, performance, and data accuracy.
• Connect to and utilize data from various data lake sources on GCP, ensuring seamless data flow for visualization purposes.
• Develop and maintain robust semantic models in Looker (LookML) and PowerBI, ensuring data consistency, accuracy, and ease of use for reporting and analysis. This includes defining dimensions, measures, relationships, and calculations.
• Create compelling visualizations to effectively communicate results, performance, and insights from machine learning models and GenAI applications, potentially visualizing model predictions, feature importance, natural language processing outputs, and other relevant data.
• Leverage strong understanding of GCP services such as BigQuery and Cloud Storage to access, process, and prepare data for visualization.
• Partner closely with data scientists, data engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders to understand their data visualization needs and translate them into effective visual solutions.
• Elicit and document visualization requirements from stakeholders, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
• Optimize dashboard and visualization performance for fast load times and efficient data rendering.
• Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of data presented in visualizations.
• Establish and enforce data visualization best practices and standards.
• Provide guidance and support to team members on data visualization tools and techniques.
• Stay current with the latest trends and advancements in data visualization, Power BI, Looker, GCP, and related technologies, especially in AI/ML contexts.

Required Skills And Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Data Science, Statistics, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Visualization Expert, Data Visualization Engineer, or similar.
• Proven expertise in designing and developing interactive dashboards and reports using PowerBI and Looker.
• Strong experience with data lakes, preferably on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Solid understanding and hands-on experience in developing semantic models, particularly with LookML in Looker and data modeling within PowerBI.
• Experience in creating visualizations for machine learning and GenAI applications is preferred.
• Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
• Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and data modeling techniques.
• Experience with data preparation, ELT (preferred) / ETL processes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to convey technical information to diverse audiences.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• A strong portfolio showcasing data visualization skills and experience is required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with other data visualization tools.
• Knowledge of scripting languages like Python or R for data manipulation and analysis.
• GCP certification.
• Understanding of data governance and security principles.
