The opportunity
The objective of our advisory risk services is to provide clients with a candid and reliable overview of their risk landscape. Our solutions empower clients to build confidence and trust with their customers, the overall market, and fulfill regulatory or contractual obligations. As an Associate Consultant, you will be instrumental in executing client engagements focused on governance, risk & compliance (GRC), internal audits, process reviews, standard operating procedures, enterprise risk management, and revenue assurance.
Your key responsibilities
- Execute client engagements with a focus on quality delivery according to client requirements.
- Review working papers and client folders, suggesting productivity improvements and opportunities to enhance client service.
- Understand business and industry issues/trends to identify areas for improvement in client business processes and prepare recommendations.
- Handle data analytics using tools such as Access and ACL.
- Ensure compliance with engagement plans and internal quality & risk management procedures.
- Maintain awareness of internal auditing standards issued by the IIA and ICAI.
- Demonstrate an application and solution-based approach to problem-solving.
- Manage engagement budgets and support superiors in developing marketing collateral, business proposals, and new solution/methodology development.
- Develop strong working relationships with clients, including process owners and functional heads.
- Exhibit attention to detail and mentor junior team members, including interns and analysts.
- Contribute to knowledge management sessions within the practice.

- Assist and share knowledge with team members, seniors, and managers in developing new methodologies and internal initiatives. Participate in performing procedures, particularly those involving complex, judgmental, or specialized issues.
- Collaborate with the team and client to create plans for accomplishing engagement objectives and strategies that comply with professional standards. Advise clients on understanding and managing their business risks and verifying the validity of their business information.
- Brief the engagement team on the client's internal audit environment and industry IA trends. Maintain client management relationships to manage expectations regarding service, work products, timing, and deliverables.
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of compliance, financial, and operational risks. Perform internal control testing, develop internal audit plans, and provide internal audit services on an outsourcing basis. Assess internal controls and SOX frameworks to mitigate risk and apply them to client situations.
- Leverage extensive knowledge of the client's business/industry to identify technological developments and evaluate their impact. Demonstrate excellent project management skills, inspire teamwork and responsibility within the engagement team, and utilize current technology/tools to enhance deliverable and service effectiveness.
- Understand EY and its service lines and actively assess how the firm can best serve clients.
To qualify for the role, you must have
- A Chartered Accountant / Certified Internal Auditor designation, or a Master's degree in Business Administration.
- 0-1 year of post-qualification experience in risk advisory, internal audit, or external audit.
- Availability to travel outside of the assigned office location at least 50% of the time, and commute within the region. A valid passport is required.
