Associate Analyst - Independence Risk Management

About the Opportunity:

Risk Management Services (RMS) is an internal EY function dedicated to protecting the organization from professional practice risks. The Independence sub-service within RMS is vital for assisting EY professionals in maintaining auditor objectivity. This involves assessing employee financial and personal relationships, investigating potential conflicts, and guiding resolution of independence matters. The RMS Independence team operates globally, with a significant presence in India.

This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to EY's reputation as an independent auditor within a dynamic environment. You will work closely with EY professionals to mitigate personal independence-related risks, collaborate with senior team members, and develop expertise in Independence processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop a strong understanding of Personal Independence concepts, including financial interests, family relations, and business relationships.
• Execute procedures outlined in EYG Independence policies, conduct research, and update EY tools and databases for monitoring relationships.
• Assist EY Professionals in mitigating independence-related risks.
• Communicate with EY professionals and senior team members to resolve queries and gather information.

Technical Expertise:

• Gain a solid understanding of financial products and markets (equities, structured products, funds).
• Perform research and analysis on financial interests and family relationships to determine investment permissibility.
• Collaborate on projects and contribute to team initiatives.
• Understand and work towards meeting individual Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
• Build working knowledge of internal Independence tools for recording financial and family relation data.
• Demonstrate diligence, strong motivation, and a willingness to learn quickly.

Qualifications:

• Masters/post-graduate degree, preferably in Finance, from a reputable institute.
• 0-1 year of experience in research and analysis in a professional services firm.
• Well-developed analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills in English.
• Basic understanding of financial products such as equities, mutual funds, pension plans, and insurance policies.

Technologies and Tools:

• Experience with MS Office suites (Outlook, MS Excel, Word, SharePoint).
