Associate Analyst, Risk Management - Independence
Join EY in Gurgaon, Haryana, India (122010) as an Associate Analyst within our Risk Management Services (RMS) team, specifically focusing on Independence. This role is crucial in upholding EY's integrity and objectivity as a leading auditor by ensuring compliance with global independence policies.
About the Role
As an Associate Analyst/Analyst in the Global Monitoring System (GMS) team, you will play a vital part in safeguarding EY's independence. You will conduct research and execute global Independence processes in line with EY Global (EYG) policies. Your responsibilities will include monitoring professionals' financial relationships to identify and report potential conflicts of interest with audit clients. You will also provide essential support to EY professionals by answering inquiries related to country and personal Independence topics.
Risk Management Services (RMS) is a key internal function within EY Global Delivery Services (GDS), responsible for mitigating risks arising from our professional practice. The Independence sub-service function, which you will be a part of, is critical in helping EY professionals maintain auditor objectivity. This involves assessing employee financial and personal relationships, conducting investigations, and advising on the resolution of personal independence matters. The RMS Independence team is a large, globally integrated group with a presence in India, Poland, and the Philippines.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop a strong understanding of Personal Independence concepts, including financial interests, family relations, and business relationships.
- Execute procedures as outlined in EYG Independence policies, conduct research, and update relevant EY tools and databases to monitor financial and family relationships.
- Assist EY Professionals in mitigating independence-related risks.
- Communicate with EY professionals and senior team members to resolve queries and gather information.
- Learn and become proficient in Independence processes under the guidance of experienced professionals.
Technical Expertise
- Gain a good understanding of financial products and markets, such as equities, structured products, and funds, while executing work requests and projects.
- Perform research and analysis on EY professionals' financial interests and family relationships, including brokerage accounts, loans, and insurance policies, to determine investment permissibility.
- Participate in a range of projects and collaborate with project managers for timely completion of assigned work.
- Contribute to team discussions and organizational initiatives.
- Understand and work towards meeting and exceeding defined individual Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Build working knowledge of internal Independence tools used to record financial and family relation data.
- Demonstrate diligence, hard work, high motivation, and a strong willingness to learn quickly.

Qualifications
- Masters/post-graduate degree, preferably in Finance, from a reputed institute.
- 0-1 year of experience in research and analysis in a professional services firm.
- Well-developed analytical, interpersonal, and communication (verbal and written) skills in English.
- Basic understanding of financial products like equities, mutual funds, pension plans, insurance policies, etc.
- Experience in MS Office suites (Outlook, Excel, Word, SharePoint).
