What you’ll do

• Design, build, and maintain AI applications using Large Language Models (LLMs), particularly OpenAI models.
• Integrate LLM platforms via Python-based APIs for tasks like summarization, classification, extraction, reasoning, and workflow automation.
• Develop and refine prompt engineering strategies and reusable frameworks for reliable and scalable AI outputs.
• Construct AI agents and tools for multi-step workflows, tool calling, and interaction with diverse data sources.
• Collaborate with consultants and case teams to translate business needs into practical AI solutions.
• Research and evaluate emerging AI frameworks and tools for potential integration.
• Assist supervisors with work planning, solution design, and brainstorming for AI initiatives.
• Ensure the robustness, security, documentation, and adherence to Bain’s engineering standards for all solutions.
• Clearly articulate technical concepts and findings to non-technical audiences.
• Actively pursue self-learning in AI, LLMs, and applied machine learning.
• Contribute to knowledge sharing, documentation, and internal training within the PEG and BCN communities.

About you

Must-have skills:

• Proficiency in Python and/or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Hands-on experience with LLM APIs (e.g., OpenAI API), including prompt design and response handling.
• Understanding of prompt engineering techniques, LLM limitations, and output quality improvement methods.
• Experience building AI agents, workflows, or automation tools with LLMs.
• Familiarity with REST APIs and external service integration.
• Working knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and software engineering best practices.
• Experience with version control systems like Git.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with evolving requirements.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking capabilities.
• Excellent English communication skills.

Good-to-have skills:

• Familiarity with modern front-end technologies (Angular, React, HTMX).
• Experience with AI orchestration frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex, etc.).
• Exposure to vector databases and embeddings (FAISS, Pinecone, Chroma).
• Basic understanding of machine learning concepts and Natural Language Processing (NLP).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Experience building internal tools, prototypes, or dashboards.
• Interest in private equity, due diligence, or consulting problem-solving.
• Ability to produce clear technical documentation and usage guides.

Educational qualification & Professional experience:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
• Strong academic record, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities.
• Work experience:
• Undergraduate degree: 2-4 years in software development, AI engineering, or related fields.
• Postgraduate degree: 0-2 years of relevant experience.
• Prior exposure to consulting, analytics, or business problem-solving is advantageous but not essential.
