Backend Specialist - ETL Developer

Standard Chartered is seeking a Backend Specialist with a focus on ETL development to join their technology team in Chennai, India. This permanent, office-based role involves contributing to the development and maintenance of in-house applications, working collaboratively with other engineers and developers. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sophisticated design and the creation of quality products.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain ETL processes using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) to support data integration and data warehousing initiatives.
• Collaborate with business analysts and data architects to understand data requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Create and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and scripts for efficient data processing.
• Perform data profiling, cleansing, and validation to ensure data quality and integrity.
• Monitor and troubleshoot ETL processes to identify and resolve issues.
• Document ETL processes, data flows, and data mappings.
• Implement best practices for ETL development, including performance tuning and error handling.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
• Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in data integration and ETL development.
• Experience with working in an Agile environment.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Minimum 8+ years of experience in the IT industry.
• Strong professional development experience in SSIS ETL development.
• In-depth knowledge of SSIS and data integration techniques.
• Experience with data warehousing concepts and methodologies.
• Familiarity with data modeling and database design.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to data quality.
• Experience with ETL Tools and Platforms, Data Transformation, Error Handling and Logging, Performance Tuning, Kingswaysoft Integration Toolkit, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Integration, ETL Architecture and Design, Data Quality Management, Scripting and Automation, Version Control and Collaboration, API Integration, Documentation and Best Practices.
