Position Summary
The Global Delivery Services, Benchmarking Team Assistant Director is a key member of a global team focused on delivering end-to-end process benchmarking support for pursuits and engagements. This role requires functional expertise in business processes such as Supply Chain, IT, Finance, Legal, Shared Services, and Cyber Security. The Assistant Director will partner with field practitioners to define project objectives, identify relevant client metrics, and support data collection, validation, and benchmarking analysis to pinpoint areas for improvement.
This position involves supporting the management of the Benchmarking team, including supervising, developing, and mentoring colleagues. It also requires collaboration on developing sector/process-specific benchmarking content and engaging with global counterparts to ensure seamless execution of functional objectives. With a strong understanding of benchmarking principles, analytical tools, and processes, the incumbent will work with client engagement teams to understand their needs and utilize benchmarking tools to develop necessary process metrics. The role also supports and participates in initiatives to identify and capture best practices for continuous improvement within the Benchmarking group.
Job Responsibilities
Client Service Delivery:
- Manage the intake and triage process for benchmarking requests from client teams.
- Collaborate with client teams to understand their needs and efficiently direct requests to appropriate internal or network resources.
- Lead process benchmarking engagement delivery, reviewing data, tools, and content resources, and supporting projects across Finance, Supply Chain, IT, HR, Legal, and Cyber Security.
- Manage and drive content development activities, including planning and risk mitigation.
- Act as a subject matter expert during client interactions to understand requirements, identify relevant metrics and peer groups, and map client processes to benchmarking frameworks.
Relationship Management:
- Demonstrate strong executive presence and build lasting relationships with key stakeholders within Functions and the knowledge community.
- Develop a network of key Service Line or Sector executives to create tailored benchmarking products and services.
- Foster relationships with other functional teams and external vendors (e.g., APQC) to leverage resources effectively on benchmarking projects.
- Proactively promote awareness of the global benchmarking service offering to ensure a consistent pipeline of engagement support work.
Analytical & Decision Making Responsibilities:
- Manage content and data, ensuring compliance with firm policies (e.g., data privacy, quality risk management, independence). Understand parameters for content sharing and intellectual property usage.
- Lead internal improvement initiatives focused on enhancing benchmarking efficiency and effectiveness.
- Develop and/or review benchmarking deliverables, incorporating insights from content specialists, analytics teams, and client teams.
- Provide quality reviews to ensure the highest standard of client deliverables.
- Actively enhance proprietary datasets through client data collection and evaluation/purchase of third-party data.
- Support internal initiatives aimed at improving benchmarking efficiency, effectiveness, and team development.
- Assess and ensure appropriate use of firm branding, positioning, and visual identity.
Team Management & People Management:
- Actively manage assigned team members, including task/project assignment and performance management.
- Coach analysts on benchmarking activities, relationship management, and project management, and review their work.
- Engage regularly with team members across global locations to ensure team integration and motivation.
- Develop reporting, oversight, and training to ensure a consistent client experience across the global analyst group.
- Drive collaboration between Global Delivery Services (GDS) and global team members for effective communication, information sharing, and development of technology-based solutions.
- Undertake people management and counseling responsibilities.
- Proactively promote an inclusive work environment and flexibility to support team members' personal and professional goals.
- Exercise minimal supervision in making knowledge integration decisions.
Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of Finance and Supply Chain functions. Experience with IT, HR, Shared Services, Legal, and Cyber Security is advantageous.
- Proficiency in analytics tools, including Low Code/No Code platforms (e.g., PowerApps, Power Automate, PowerBI).
- Prior experience with business process transformation tools and techniques.
- Excellent customer service skills for request management and data collection.
- Demonstrated analytical, insight generation, data aggregation, and advanced Excel capabilities.
- Strong data aggregation and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to research, synthesize large volumes of benchmarking data, and deliver insightful solutions.
- Aptitude for identifying new tools and technologies relevant to benchmarking priorities.
- Proven ability to interact effectively with leaders, stakeholders, and staff, with strong presentation skills for multicultural audiences.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with key sector and service line executives.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively in a globally distributed team environment.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and execute multiple complex cross-border projects.
- Strong time management, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic, proactive in identifying issues and opportunities.

- Willingness to travel internationally as required.
Education:
- MBA or related Master's degree preferred.
Other Requirements (Preferred):
- Familiarity with data sources such as APQC, CapIQ, Avasant - Computer Economics, LESG/Refinitiv, and others.
- Knowledge of additional platforms like Tibco Spotfire, Qualtrics, PowerBI, Excel/Access spreadsheets, and databases.
Basic Qualifications:
- 9+ years of professional experience applying benchmarking solutions in global professional services or related industries.
