KinderCare Learning Companies, recognized with the prestigious Gallup Exceptional Workplace Award, seeks an Assistant Director for its Tundra Tykes center in Anchorage, AK. This pivotal role involves guiding center success through educating parents, teachers, and leaders on the profound value of early childhood education and upholding the operational objectives of the center.

Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with the Center Director in leading teaching staff, providing support to families, and achieving enrollment, accreditation, and operational goals.
  • Building strong partnerships with parents who share a commitment to providing exceptional care and education for their children.
  • Fostering positive relationships with families, educators, state licensing authorities, community stakeholders, and corporate partners.
  • Fulfilling various on-site needs, potentially including roles as a teacher, cook, or driver.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two years of experience in early childhood education, with a strong understanding of developmentally appropriate practices and their classroom application.
  • Exceptional administrative, organizational, verbal, listening, and communication abilities.
  • Current CPR and First Aid Certification, or a willingness to obtain.
  • Adherence to state-specific guidelines for the position.
  • Physical capacity to operate a computer proficiently, lift at least 40 pounds, and work in various indoor and outdoor environments.
  • Ability to assume low-level postures for close physical and visual interaction with children, possess adequate vision and hearing for child safety, and engage in active physical engagement.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, understanding, and speaking English to effectively communicate with children and parents.
