Full Job Description
The Statewide Grand Jury Bureau in Carbondale, IL, is seeking a dedicated Assistant Attorney General to prosecute multi-county criminal cases, particularly complex drug felonies. This role demands comprehensive involvement in all prosecution phases, from initial investigation and grand jury presentations to trials and post-trial proceedings. Frequent travel across all 102 Illinois counties is a requirement. The position also involves assisting other bureaus with criminal trials and civil detention hearings (SVP cases), prosecuting civil drug asset forfeitures and nuisance abatements, and preparing periodic activity reports.
