Asia Equities Product Controller

Join the dynamic Asia Equities Product Control team in Mumbai as an Analyst. This role is crucial in supporting financial controllers and trading desks to ensure the accuracy of risk, Profit & Loss (P&L), balance sheet, and month-end close procedures. You will be instrumental in daily risk and P&L reporting, providing in-depth financial analysis, and collaborating with various front and back office functions.

Key responsibilities include promoting accuracy in risk, P&L, and balance sheet management, and streamlining month-end close processes. This position offers a valuable opportunity to build strong professional relationships and significantly enhance your analytical capabilities.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assist with daily risk, P&L reporting, and month-end close processes.
• Develop an understanding of key risk measures (e.g., Greeks) and risk metrics (e.g., VaR, Stress).
• Monitor Equities trading limits, maintain the limit framework, and escalate/explain breaches to risk managers.
• Support the production of daily VaR and weekly stress results.
• Provide detailed analysis and reporting on risk and financial performance to desk heads, risk managers, business managers, and senior finance management.
• Collaborate with the business to implement robust controls and new business initiatives.
• Drive coordination across front & back office support functions to ensure timely and accurate resolution of control and reporting issues.
• Serve as an analytical and project support resource for product control.
• Handle various ad-hoc requests on a daily basis.

Required Qualifications:

• 1+ years of experience in Product Control, Financial Control, Accounting, or a related field.
• Proven experience with P&L and month-end close processes.
• Solid understanding of financial products.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel (VBA) and Access.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
• Demonstrated ability and drive to improve current processes and achieve efficiencies.
• Strong analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail and a focus on controls.
• Self-motivated and comfortable working with large datasets.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationships.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with tools such as Alteryx/Tableau.
• Knowledge of market risk metrics and financial products is essential; experience with cash equities is a plus.
