Merai Newage Pvt Ltd, located in Chennai, India, is seeking a skilled Artificial Intelligence Engineer to join our team. This is a permanent position with standard working hours from Monday to Saturday, 9 AM to 5:30 PM.

Role Overview:

We are looking for a talented Vision-Language Model (VLM) Engineer to design, develop, and deploy advanced multimodal AI systems. You will operate at the convergence of computer vision and natural language processing, contributing to innovative products that excel in understanding both images and text. Key responsibilities include designing and implementing VLM architectures for tasks like image captioning and visual question answering, training and fine-tuning models on large datasets, and optimizing performance for scalability and real-world applications. Collaboration with data scientists, software engineers, and product managers is essential, as is staying abreast of the latest research in multimodal AI.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
• Proficiency in Python and deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Strong understanding of machine learning, computer vision, and NLP concepts.
• Experience with multimodal models and architectures (e.g., transformers).
• Familiarity with handling large datasets and distributed training.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in vision-language models, machine learning, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience with models like CLIP or similar multimodal architectures.
• Knowledge of model deployment technologies such as Docker, APIs, and cloud services.
• Publications or contributions to AI research projects are considered a significant advantage.
• Demonstrated experience working with real-world AI applications.
