Artificial Intelligence Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Research, develop, benchmark, test, and document state-of-the-art algorithms for autonomous driving.
• Explore new vision and other sensor technologies, ideas, and approaches.
• Contribute to intellectual property activities by generating Invention Disclosure Memos to support patent applications.
• Participate in design reviews across algorithm development teams.
• Consider next-generation algorithms and new business opportunities.
• Develop algorithms with a view to their implementation on embedded platforms.
• Represent Valeo at various industry working groups and conferences.
• Support the design and implementation of internal training sessions within your area of expertise.
• Continuously improve competencies in automotive sensors, ADAS, deep learning frameworks, and techniques.
• Identify inefficiencies and propose/implement improvements in current algorithm development processes.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a related field.
• 2-5 years of relevant experience in AI/DL development.
• Strong understanding of deep learning concepts and computer vision.
• Experience with object detection models (e.g., YOLO) and semantic segmentation.
• Expertise in Python programming and robust software engineering practices.
• Proficiency with version control tools like Git, Bash scripting, and automation.
• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills with a structured, documented approach.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Confident, collaborative, self-motivated, determined, and energetic.

Highly Desirable Qualifications:

• Specialization in Transformers, Multi-task learning, Optimization, or Multi-modal models is preferred.
• Experience designing complex systems with multiple algorithms or modules.
• Academic publications in top-tier conferences such as CVPR, NeurIPS, ICCV, and ECCV.
• Experience with commercially deploying algorithms in robotics, LIDAR, camera systems, or sensor fusion.
• Experience developing algorithms for autonomous and/or real-time systems.
• Deep knowledge of camera systems.
• Experience in the automotive industry.
