Apprenticeship Trainee - Systems Engineer (Pre-Sales)
Who You'll Work With
Join our dynamic Sales Engineering team as an Apprentice Trainee and collaborate with industry experts and technical leaders. Reporting to the System Engineering Manager, you will work alongside skilled field engineers, contributing to aligning our cutting-edge solutions with client business objectives. You'll also have the opportunity to influence product development and strategic direction by working closely with our Product Management and Software Development teams.

This apprenticeship is designed to provide hands-on experience and mentorship from industry leaders, preparing you for a successful career in systems engineering and pre-sales. You will gain practical knowledge in:
- Understanding and supporting pre-sales activities for Arista's networking solutions.
- Collaborating on technical proposals and customer presentations.
- Learning about network design, implementation, and troubleshooting in various environments.
- Gaining exposure to Arista's product portfolio and their applications.
- Contributing to the development of technical documentation and white papers.
- Developing foundational skills in network automation and scripting.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor of Engineering (BE), Bachelor of Science (BS) in Computer Science (CS) or Computer Engineering (CE).
- A strong interest in pursuing industry-recognized Network Certifications (e.g., CCIE (R&S), JNCIE) is highly preferred.
- Solid foundational knowledge in L2/L3 networking design and implementation.
- Familiarity with routing and switching concepts, including L2/L3 protocols from vendors like Cisco, Juniper, Extreme, or Aruba.
- Demonstrated interest in Sales Engineering, Solutions Architecture, Pre-Sales SE, or Network Consulting Engineering roles.
- Basic understanding of network overlay technologies is a plus.
- Knowledge of core networking concepts including Ethernet, VLANs, IP Routing, TCP/IP, BGP, eBGP, VxLAN, EVPN, Multicast, Spanning Tree, and QoS.
- Familiarity with industry-standard Command Line Interfaces (CLIs).
- An interest in Software-Defined Networking (SDN) and Network Function Virtualization (NFV) is desired.
- Basic programming skills in Python and Ansible for network automation are beneficial.
- Awareness of competitive networking products, solutions, and services.
- The ability to write white papers is considered a valuable asset.
