Applied Scientist

About the Role

We are seeking an Applied Scientist to join our Demand Forecasting team. In this pivotal role, you will design and implement novel deep learning architectures for time-series foundation models that directly influence inventory decisions and advance research across hundreds of millions of products in diverse global contexts.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and deploy cutting-edge solutions using Transformers, SSMs, or Graph Neural Networks to generalize at scale.
• Owning the full development lifecycle from algorithmic whiteboarding to production-scale deployment.
• Collaborating with Software Development Engineers (SDEs) to build high-performance pipelines in Python and Scala that translate complex science into scalable code.
• Leveraging agentic GenAI workflows to automate research cycles, synthesize literature, generate experimental code, and iterate rapidly on model architectures.
• Maintaining scientific excellence by publishing novel research at top-tier venues (NeurIPS, ICLR, KDD) and contributing to Amazon's internal patent ecosystem.
