Application Systems Engineer

Are you a problem solver with in-depth knowledge of IT systems and applications, passionate about automation and tackling complex technical challenges? Navan is seeking an Application Systems Engineer to join our team in Bengaluru, India. This role involves direct collaboration with internal IT Support, Security, G&A, and Engineering teams. You will function as an engineer to deploy and integrate new systems, and as a critical escalation point to troubleshoot system issues and outages.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement and administer SaaS tools including Okta, Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom, Okta Workflows, and Atlassian suite.
• Support, monitor, and troubleshoot applications, systems, and their interconnections.
• Administer internal Identity Access and Management functions, including Single Sign-On (SSO) configuration and deployments.
• Provide technical expertise to support our growing business and expanding IT systems and infrastructure.
• Enhance cross-team knowledge through the development and maintenance of IT documentation.
• Continuously evaluate gaps and opportunities to mature our environment and automate manual processes.
• Monitor emerging technologies and recommend adoption where applicable.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience administering a wide range of SaaS applications in a cloud-first environment.
• Technical proficiency with our primary tech stack: Okta, Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom, Okta Workflows, and Atlassian (Jira Service Desk and Software automation and management are key).
• 2+ years of experience with Okta Workflows and other iPaaS platforms (e.g., Workato, Zapier, BetterCloud).
• Strong knowledge of IAM concepts: SSO, SWA, SAML, JIT, SCIM, OIDC, OAuth, RBAC, ABAC.
• Experience working with APIs.
• Scripting experience (e.g., GAM, Python, Bash, PowerShell) for automation, monitoring, and alerting is a plus.
• Exceptional problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with a solid understanding of IT operations.
• Demonstrated ability to drive measurable results and meet key deliverables under tight timelines.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and time-sensitive requests.
• Willingness to work odd hours and participate in on-call duties.
• Proven experience as an IT Systems Engineer in a fast-paced corporate environment.
• Okta certifications are a significant advantage.
• A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related computer field is a plus.
