About the Application Engineer Role

Location: Bangalore, Karnataka, India

We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused Application Engineer to drive brand preference for Zebra’s technology solutions among partners and enterprise end-users. In this role, you will collaborate with Sales, Sales Engineering, partners, and customers across India and the Sub-Continent region. Ideal for technical professionals passionate about mobile device software development, you will build applications, lead technical pre-sales engagements, and work closely with engineering teams to design next-generation mobility tools.

Key Responsibilities:

• Pre-Sales Technical Support: Serve as an integral member of the technical pre-sales team to position Zebra’s advanced hardware and software solutions for large enterprise accounts.
• Technical Presentation Leadership: Lead comprehensive technical presentations for Sales, System Integrators, Product Engineers, Program Managers, and Business Partners on enterprise mobile computing, data capture, and label printing solutions.
• Demonstration Setup: Install, configure, and guide solution and application demonstrations for key customers and strategic partners.
• Proof-of-Concept Development: Collaborate with Sales Engineers and global engineering teams to architect custom software solutions, developing functional PoCs to address complex customer challenges.
• Community & Event Engagement: Actively participate in Zebra’s virtual teams and represent the company at developer events like DroidCon or Zebra AppForum.
• Developer Advocacy: Promote Zebra’s mobility tools and developer SDKs within external developer communities.
• Continuous Enablement: Attend technical, product, and sales training to stay updated on Zebra’s technology evolution.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field).
• Experience: 3+ years in software development with expertise in domain/solution knowledge to create competitive advantages.
• Specialized Exposure: Hands-on experience with UHF RFID technology (minimum 6 months preferred).

Key Skills:

• Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), Android Development, and modern languages like Java, C#, C++, Python.
• Familiarity with REST APIs and SDKs for enterprise integrations.
• Comfort with JSON/XML data formats and application architecture design.
• Experience with enterprise mobility, barcode/label printing, and advanced data capture technologies.
• Effective communication to translate technical concepts for diverse audiences.
• Willingness to learn quickly, adapt, and engage in continuous professional development.
• Travel Flexibility: Ability to travel as required.
