Application Developer

About the Role

GBIT is actively recruiting for an Application Developer to support a premier fintech client. This role focuses on building and maintaining scalable applications, APIs, and cloud-native services specifically for credit risk decisioning and machine learning workflows.

• Core Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain high-performance Java and Python applications that support real-time credit risk decisions and ML model execution.
  - Build robust RESTful microservices and distributed systems optimized for low latency on AWS and OpenShift/Kubernetes environments.
  - Deeply utilize Amazon SageMaker and MLOps best practices for model integration, deployment, versioning, monitoring, and full lifecycle management.
  - Engineer data-driven applications leveraging Snowflake and SQL to process large-scale credit datasets.
  - Collaborate directly with data scientists and ML engineers to productionize models within complex decisioning workflows.
• Engineering Excellence: Implement automated testing, CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Terraform, and modern development practices. Leverage AI coding assistants like Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, and Cursor to enhance productivity, code quality, and documentation.
  - Monitor system health via Kibana/Elastic telemetry, logs, metrics, and distributed tracing to ensure platform reliability.
• Impact: Contribute directly to the architecture of business-critical credit risk platforms, driving performance optimization, security hardening, and continuous improvement across our fintech solutions.
