Location: Chennai - India (Onsite)

Position Overview:We are seeking an experienced Apigee Engineer to design, develop, and deploy robust APIs using Google's Apigee Edge or Apigee X platforms. This role is critical for our team in establishing secure API gateways that connect various backend services. Key Responsibilities:

• Crafting reusable API proxies and shared flows within the Apigee environment.
• Implementing rigorous security policies including OAuth, JWT validation, and API key management to protect data integrity.
• Troubleshooting complex API issues and optimizing performance for high-traffic scenarios.
• Collaborating closely with backend development teams to expose internal services as public or private APIs.
• Managing the full API lifecycle, from design and versioning to governance and documentation adherence.
• Sustaining CI/CD pipelines to ensure seamless deployments of API updates.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 3-5 years of hands-on experience with Google Apigee (Edge or X).
• Deep understanding of RESTful architecture, API design principles (e.g., OAS/OpenAPI), and security standards like OAuth2 and JWT.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD tools is essential.

Tech Stack & Skills:

• Strong proficiency in JavaScript or Java; Node.js experience is a significant plus.
• Solid grasp of API Gateway policies for traffic control, rate limiting, and security enforcement.

Role Details:This position offers a 6-month contract with potential extensions. It is an onsite role located at our Chennai office.
