Role: API Developer

Location: Remote

Role Overview:

We are seeking an API Developer to design, build, and maintain robust interfaces that connect Joveo's platform with clients, partners, and internal services. You will be responsible for creating fast, reliable, and well-documented APIs designed for consumption by developers globally.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs.
• Define and enforce API standards, including versioning, pagination, error handling, and rate limiting.
• Implement API authentication and authorization layers (e.g., OAuth2, JWT, API keys).
• Create OpenAPI/Swagger documentation and maintain developer-facing API references.
• Monitor API performance, latency, and reliability in production environments.
• Collaborate with frontend, mobile, and partner integration teams as a technical API liaison.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Extensive experience designing and building production-grade REST and/or GraphQL APIs.
• Proficiency in at least one backend programming language such as Python, Node.js, Go, or Java.
• Deep understanding of API security principles, including authentication, authorization, and rate limiting.
• Experience with API gateway solutions like Kong, AWS API Gateway, or Apigee.
• Familiarity with the OpenAPI specification and best practices for API documentation.
• Strong grasp of HTTP protocols, caching strategies, and performance optimization techniques.
