Role: API Developer

Location: Remote

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced API Developer to design, develop, and maintain the interfaces that connect Joveo's platform with clients, partners, and internal services. The successful candidate will build APIs that are high-performing, reliable, thoroughly documented, and designed for global developer consumption.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs.
• Define and enforce API standards, including versioning, pagination, error handling, and rate limiting.
• Implement robust API authentication and authorization layers using standards such as OAuth2, JWT, and API keys.
• Create and maintain OpenAPI/Swagger documentation and developer-facing API references.
• Monitor API performance, latency, and reliability in production environments.
• Collaborate with frontend, mobile, and partner integration teams as a technical API liaison.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Extensive experience in designing and building production-ready REST and/or GraphQL APIs.
• Proficiency in at least one backend programming language such as Python, Node.js, Go, or Java.
• Deep understanding of API security principles, including authentication, authorization, and rate limiting.
• Experience with API gateway tools like Kong, AWS API Gateway, or Apigee.
• Familiarity with the OpenAPI specification and best practices for API documentation.
• Strong understanding of HTTP protocol, caching strategies, and performance optimization techniques.
