Android Malware Analyst

LTM is seeking a highly skilled Senior Android Malware Analyst to join our team. This role involves in-depth analysis and reverse engineering of Android malware to enhance our security posture. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in malware analysis, reverse engineering, and software development, with experience in identifying and classifying malicious applications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct second-level reviews of complex threats and perform high-volume Android application security analysis.
• Perform large-scale reverse engineering and malware analysis.
• Document all analysis findings accurately and concisely for reporting.
• Promote secure development practices and a security-first mindset.
• Research emerging attack vectors targeting Android platforms.
• Collaborate with team members to improve understanding of Android malware and develop detection/mitigation strategies.
• Mentor and train junior analysts, and lead knowledge-sharing sessions.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3-5 years of experience in security assessments, security design reviews, or threat modeling.
• Experience in malware analysis, reverse engineering, and software development.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proficiency with advanced reversing tools like IDA Pro and Ghidra.
• Ability to reverse-engineer heavily obfuscated code and native libraries.
• Capability to analyze and break custom cryptographic routines used in malware.
• Expertise in threat identification and classification of malicious applications.
• Experience in Android reverse engineering (APK, DEX), malware analysis, and threat modeling.
• Strong understanding of ARM-based architecture.
• Experience in Android application development using C/C++ and Java.
• Experience analyzing app behavior using automated tools and sandboxing environments.
• In-depth technical knowledge of security engineering, computer/network security, authentication, security protocols, and applied cryptography.
• Experience in automation and scripting (Python preferred).
• Ability to classify applications based on SOPs and threat indicators.
