Android Developer

About The Role

We are seeking a skilled Android Developer proficient in Kotlin to design, develop, and maintain a high-performance native Android application. This role involves close collaboration with backend and design teams to deliver a seamless mobile experience for our users in Delhi, India.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain native Android applications using Kotlin.
• Implement UI designs using Jetpack Compose and Material 3.
• Integrate REST APIs and WebSocket connections for real-time data.
• Implement audio playback and background media services.
• Handle push notifications via Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM).
• Utilize local storage (Room DB) and implement caching strategies.
• Ensure app performance, quality, and responsiveness.
• Manage app releases and publishing on the Google Play Store.
• Write comprehensive unit and UI tests.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including backend, design, and QA.

Required Skills

• Strong proficiency in Kotlin.
• Experience with Jetpack Compose, Navigation Compose, ViewModel, LiveData/StateFlow.
• Familiarity with Retrofit/OkHttp for API integration.
• Experience with WebSocket or real-time data handling.
• Understanding of MVVM/MVI architecture patterns.
• Experience with Hilt/Dagger for dependency injection.
• Familiarity with ExoPlayer or media playback on Android.
• Proven experience publishing apps on the Google Play Store.
• Good understanding of Android lifecycle, background services, and permissions.
• Proficiency in version control with Git.

Good to Have

• Experience with Firebase services (Auth, FCM, Analytics, Crashlytics).
• Familiarity with Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Fastlane, GitHub Actions).
• Knowledge of multilingual/i18n implementation on Android.
• Experience with financial or data-intensive applications.

Qualifications

• B.Tech / B.E. in Computer Science or equivalent degree.
• 2-5 years of professional Android development experience.
• A portfolio or published apps on the Play Store is preferred.
