About the Role

Loco is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Android Developer to join our vibrant team in Bengaluru, India. You will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality Android mobile applications. Collaborating with a cross-functional team including designers, product managers, and backend engineers, you will focus on creating exceptional user experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Spearhead the development of product features from initial conception through exploration, maintenance, refinement, and testing.
• Contribute to the creation of a sophisticated browser-based interface, drawing inspiration from leading visual design tools to craft polished experiences for users and creators alike, enabling them to build their digital identities.
• Play a vital role in developing Loco's UI component library and custom animations.
• Utilize cutting-edge frameworks, providing informed opinions on their application, to build a product that is both advanced and highly functional.
• Focus on developing intuitive and often subtle features designed to keep creators and streamers in a state of creative flow, empowering them and aiding in the development of their digital presence.
• Integrate seamlessly with our existing backend infrastructure and machine learning components.
• Collaborate with designers, product managers, and engineers to define feature scopes that effectively balance complexity, agility, and customer experience.

What We're Looking For

• 2-3 years of dedicated Android development experience.
• Proficiency in Kotlin, MVVM architecture, Kotlin Coroutines, and Android Studio.
• Demonstrated success with one or more applications published on the app store.
• Experience integrating with third-party libraries and APIs.
• Skilled in UI development using Interface Builder and code, including Auto Layout.
• Deep understanding of the application lifecycle, various architectural patterns, and design principles.
• Experience with streaming-related technologies and animation skills are a significant plus.
• A detail-oriented, analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities and market awareness.
• A self-starter capable of excelling in a fast-paced startup environment that encourages risk-taking and continuous learning.
• A solid grasp of streaming protocols, codecs, and related technologies.
• Proven experience with video playback and streaming libraries on the Android platform.
• Familiarity with adaptive streaming technologies such as HLS and DASH.
