Responsibilities

• Develop and ship production-grade Android applications using Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and Custom Views.
• Design, build, and maintain reusable Android UI components and scalable design-system libraries for Bangalore-based teams.
• Own and evolve the Android Mobile Design System to ensure consistency across products and feature modules globally.
• Translate complex UI/UX designs into modular, responsive Android components optimized for various screen sizes and densities.
• Implement Material Design principles with a strong focus on accessibility and usability standards.
• Ensure UI components work consistently across different Android OS versions prevalent in the Indian market.
• Collaborate closely with designers, product managers, and engineering teams to deliver high-quality mobile experiences for enterprise clients.
• Develop modular UI libraries that can be adopted by multiple feature teams within our organization.
• Optimize UI rendering, layouts, and animations to maintain smooth performance and high frame rates on mid-range devices common in the region.
• Identify and resolve production issues related to performance, memory usage, battery consumption, and stability for users across India and internationally.
• Implement reliable background processing and data synchronization using modern Android development practices suitable for enterprise environments.
• Write clean, maintainable code following MVVM/MVI architecture patterns best in class.
• Leverage coroutines and flow for efficient asynchronous programming to enhance app responsiveness.
• Implement local data persistence solutions using Room Database where required for offline capabilities.
• Ensure all applications follow accessibility guidelines (WCAG) and performance benchmarks expected by enterprise clients.
• Contribute to design-system governance, documentation, and component standards adopted across engineering teams globally.
