Information Security Analyst - Remote Opportunity

Hays is seeking a dedicated Information Security Analyst to join our remote team. This role is crucial for safeguarding our information assets by assessing and mitigating risks across our network, systems, and applications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive information risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities in network infrastructure, systems, and applications.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to facilitate the remediation of identified security weaknesses.
• Generate detailed reports on findings, including actionable recommendations for corrective measures.
• Execute vulnerability assessments utilizing specialized IT security tools and established methodologies.
• Evaluate the IT security and risk posture of the IT network, systems, software applications, and vendor operations.
• Identify opportunities to reduce information risk and document proposed solutions for risk acceptance or mitigation.
• Monitor and manage the performance of risk remediation tasks and risk mitigation changes, reporting on progress and outcomes.
• Oversee IT and vendor compliance with security maintenance requirements for their systems and applications.
• Provide weekly project status updates, highlighting any outstanding issues.
• Analyze security logs from various consoles (e.g., Antivirus, 2FA, Mimecast, Splunk, Incapsula, Vontu) and report findings and recommendations in conjunction with the Information Security Lead/Specialist.
• Offer ongoing support and guidance to UK users on security-related queries.

Qualifications and Experience:

• A Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field is required.
• 2-3 years of experience in IT security or information security is essential.
• Solid understanding of technical infrastructure, networks, databases, and systems from an IT Security and IT Risk perspective.
• Proven experience with Intrusion Prevention/Detection Systems (IPS/IDS) and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) technologies.
• Familiarity with common information security management frameworks such as ISO27000 and ITIL.
• Experience with Windows workstation and server administration is preferred.
• Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical audiences effectively in English.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for efficient security incident and problem resolution.
• Ability to work autonomously under minimal supervision and thrive as part of a remote, globally distributed team.
• Demonstrated customer/client focus with a commitment to managing expectations, delivering exceptional customer experiences, and building lasting relationships.
