AI/ML Engineer

Role Overview

Papigen is seeking a talented AI/ML Engineer to join our team in India. This role is pivotal in designing, developing, and deploying cutting-edge AI-powered applications and intelligent agents. You will leverage the power of Large Language Models (LLMs) and advanced agentic AI frameworks to drive innovation. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of Python, robust machine learning frameworks, and Azure AI services. You should have practical experience in building Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) applications, implementing LLM-based automation, and developing AI-driven analytics, ideally within enterprise or financial contexts.

You will collaborate closely with diverse, cross-functional teams to seamlessly integrate sophisticated AI capabilities into our business applications, ensuring solutions are scalable, reliable, and at the forefront of innovation.

Scope of Work

• Develop sophisticated LLM-powered applications using leading frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, MS Autogen, or similar technologies.
• Implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and Model Context Protocol (MCP) strategies to effectively integrate LLMs with both structured and unstructured data sources.
• Design and deploy intelligent AI agents capable of autonomous reasoning, planning, and execution of complex business workflows.
• Build highly scalable AI/ML applications utilizing Python and modern, industry-standard frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Scikit-learn.
• Harness the capabilities of Azure AI/ML services, including Cognitive Services, Azure OpenAI, and Azure Machine Learning, for efficient model training and deployment.
• Apply established Machine Learning best practices for comprehensive model versioning, rigorous evaluation, proactive monitoring, and continuous optimization.
• Collaborate effectively with business analysts, data engineers, and solution architects to translate functional requirements into robust AI solutions.
• Actively participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, conduct thorough peer reviews, and contribute valuable insights to architecture discussions.
• Meticulously document technical designs, data flows, model behaviors, and test cases, adhering to enterprise standards.
• Provide essential technical mentorship and facilitate knowledge transfer to fellow team members.
• Support production deployment processes, adeptly troubleshoot issues, and contribute to continuous model improvement cycles.

Required Skills & Experience

• A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience developing Python-based AI/ML applications.
• At least 3 months of practical experience in agentic AI or LLM-based application development (utilizing LangChain, LangGraph, MS Autogen, or equivalent).
• A solid understanding of core AI/ML concepts, Natural Language Processing (NLP), model fine-tuning techniques, and vector databases (e.g., FAISS, Pinecone, Chroma).
• Proven experience with Azure AI/ML, Azure OpenAI, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Cognitive Services.
• Proficiency in data processing, cleansing, and feature engineering techniques.
• Familiarity with DevOps pipelines, CI/CD for ML (MLOps), and version control systems like Git/Azure Repos.
• Strong collaboration skills and the ability to clearly communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Exposure to the financial domain or working within compliance-driven environments is considered a significant advantage.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of advanced prompt engineering techniques, function calling, and multi-agent orchestration.
• Understanding of integrations with Azure Synapse, Azure Data Lake, and Power BI.
• Hands-on experience with containerization technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, or similar for ML deployments.
• Familiarity with LLMOps best practices and AI observability tools (e.g., Weights & Biases, MLflow, LangSmith).
• Experience working within Agile/SAFe delivery models.

Certifications (Preferred But Not Mandatory)

• Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Engineer Associate (AI-102)
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Scientist Associate (DP-100)
• Databricks Certified Machine Learning Professional
• OpenAI Developer or LangChain Certified Developer (if available)
• SAFe Practitioner or Agile Foundation Certification

Educational Qualifications

A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, AI/ML, Data Science, or a closely related discipline is required.
