Software Development Engineer 2
The Role:
AMD is seeking an influential software engineer to enable AI acceleration at scale. You will be a core team member, developing ML tools and methodologies to optimize and realize full system performance for AI workloads on Ryzen AI SoC. You will work on the latest AI models for vision, language, and generative AI, collaborating with leading engineers across AMD's CPU, GPU, and Adaptable Compute teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of AMD's AI compilers and runtime.
- Research and implement methods to continuously improve solution performance.
- Stay informed of software and hardware trends and innovations, particularly in ML algorithms and architectures.
- Optimize current systems and research more efficient alternative approaches.
- Develop technical relationships with peers and partners.
- Collaborate with AMD's architecture specialists to enhance future products.
Preferred Experience:
- Strong object-oriented programming background, C/C++ preferred, with 2+ years of industry experience.
- Good understanding of object-oriented design principles.
- Solid grasp of software engineering principles, data structures, algorithms, operating system concepts, and multithreaded programming.
- Ability to write high-quality, detailed code.
- Knowledge of AI frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, ONNXRuntime, TVM, and MLIR.
- Familiarity with key ML operations like GEMM and CONV.
- Understanding of the performance implications of different compute, memory, and communication configurations, as well as hardware and software implementation choices for AI acceleration.
- Experience with software development processes and tools including debuggers, source code control systems (e.g., GitHub), and profilers.
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
Academic Credentials:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
