AI/ML Data Scientist Role in Hyderabad, India

Cognizant is seeking a hands-on AI/ML Data Scientist with a consultative approach to solve business challenges using Machine Learning and Deep Learning algorithms. This role is based in Hyderabad, Telangana, India, with an in-person interview process.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage a diverse range of AI/ML techniques and algorithms to identify optimal solutions for complex business problems.
  • Enhance model accuracy to drive significant business impact.
  • Quantify and estimate the business value derived from model deployment.
  • Collaborate with domain experts and customer teams to understand business contexts and data dictionaries, applying relevant Deep Learning solutions.
  • Utilize tools and scripts for effective data preprocessing and feature engineering using Python, R, SQL, and cloud data pipelines.
  • Design, develop, and deploy Deep Learning models utilizing TensorFlow and PyTorch.
  • Apply Deep Learning models to text, speech, image, and video data.
  • Design and develop Natural Language Processing (NLP) models for tasks such as text classification, custom entity recognition, relationship extraction, text summarization, topic modeling, reasoning over knowledge graphs, and semantic search, employing tools like Spacy and open-source frameworks like TensorFlow and PyTorch.
  • Design and develop image recognition and video analysis models using Deep Learning algorithms and open-source tools like OpenCV.
  • Stay abreast of state-of-the-art Deep Learning algorithms.
  • Optimize and fine-tune Deep Learning models for maximum accuracy.
  • Employ visualization tools and modules (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) for outcome exploration, analysis, and model validation.
  • Work with application teams to deploy models on cloud platforms as services or on-premises.
  • Implement model deployment within Test/Control frameworks for tracking.
  • Build CI/CD pipelines for ML model deployment.
  • Integrate AI/ML models with other applications using REST APIs and other connector technologies.
  • Continuously upskill and stay updated with the latest techniques and best practices. Contribute to white papers and create demonstrable assets to showcase AI/ML work and its impact.

Technology and Subject Matter Expertise

  • Demonstrate expertise in machine learning, mathematical, and statistical sciences.
  • Proficiency in using versioning and collaborative tools such as Git/GitHub.
  • Possess a strong understanding of the AI solutions landscape, including cloud computing, GPU-based compute, data security and privacy, API gateways, microservices architecture, big data ingestion, storage, and processing, and CUDA programming.
  • Translate prototype-level ideas into scalable, industrial-grade solutions.
  • Ability to quantify and estimate the impact of ML models.

  • Experience in operationalizing Deep Learning models for customers and understanding the nuances of scaling such models in real-world scenarios.
  • Optimize and tune deep learning models for optimal accuracy.
  • Understanding of stream data processing, Robotic Process Automation (RPA), edge computing, and Augmented/Virtual Reality (AR/VR).
  • Appreciation for digital ethics and data privacy.
  • Experience with AI & Cognitive services platforms such as Azure ML, IBM Watson, AWS SageMaker, or Google Cloud.
  • Experience with platforms like DataRobot, CognitiveScale, or H2O.ai.
