About the Role

Join SentientGeeks' expanding Artificial Intelligence team as an AI/ML Backend Engineer. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of Deep Learning, Natural Language Processing (NLP), Python, Machine Learning, and database management. You will be instrumental in building and integrating robust backend systems for cutting-edge AI-driven applications.

Must-Have (Mandatory Skills)

• Deep Learning & NLP: Practical experience in developing, fine-tuning, and deploying deep learning models for NLP tasks, including embeddings, classification, and Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines.
• Machine Learning: Comprehensive understanding of the machine learning workflow, encompassing data preprocessing, model training, evaluation, and deployment.
• Python Programming: High proficiency in Python, essential for backend development and seamless ML model integration.
• Vector Databases: Hands-on experience with at least one of the following: FAISS, Pinecone, Weaviate, or PyMilvus.
• Databases: Strong command of SQL (specifically MySQL) and NoSQL (specifically MongoDB).
• Backend Development: Expertise in creating RESTful APIs and microservices using frameworks like FastAPI, Flask, or Django.
• Data Handling: Ability to effectively manage both structured and unstructured data within ML pipelines.
• Version Control: Proficiency with Git, GitHub, or GitLab for collaborative development workflows.
• Model Deployment: Proven experience in deploying AI/ML models into production environments, with a focus on optimizing inference performance.

Good-to-Have (Preferred / Bonus Skills)

• MLOps: Familiarity with tools such as MLflow, Kubeflow, Airflow, or Seldon.
• Computer Vision: Understanding of developing and deploying image-based AI models.
• RPA Integration: Knowledge of integrating AI components with Robotic Process Automation tools like Blue Prism or UiPath.
• Generative AI & LLM Tools: Experience with frameworks like LangChain, LangGraph, LangSmith, and Langflow.
• Agentic AI Frameworks: Exposure to Microsoft's AutoGen or CrewAI.
• Workflow Automation: Familiarity with orchestration tools like n8n or Airflow.
• Vector DB Optimization: Experience in tuning FAISS, Weaviate, or PyMilvus for enhanced scalability.
• Containerization: Working knowledge of Docker for packaging and deploying applications.
• Event Streaming: Basic understanding of technologies like Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• GenAI Integrations: Practical experience with OpenAI, Hugging Face, or custom LLMs.
• Business Intelligence (BI): Exposure to BI dashboards or data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and maintain scalable backend systems to support complex AI/ML workflows.
• Integrate and serve deep learning/NLP models efficiently in production environments.
• Manage and query vector databases to facilitate semantic and similarity-based retrieval.
• Build secure, optimized, and high-performance APIs for AI-driven applications.
• Collaborate closely with data scientists to transition AI prototypes into production-ready solutions.
• Implement robust automation and monitoring solutions for the AI/ML model lifecycle.
• Contribute actively to AI architecture discussions, particularly concerning GenAI and agentic workflows.

Educational Qualification

• Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech), Master of Technology (M.Tech), Master of Computer Applications (MCA), or Master of Science (M.Sc) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
