Accenture is seeking an experienced AI/API Engineer to join their Agentic AI Solutions team. This role focuses on building next-generation Agentic AI capabilities within Payroll, integrating business expertise with engineering to automate and scale operations. You will design, build, and integrate agentic AI solutions with enterprise systems, while also mentoring internal talent transitioning into AI roles. This position offers a blend of hands-on engineering, solution design, and enablement.

Key Responsibilities:

Build Agentic AI Solutions

• Design and develop AI-driven workflows utilizing Large Language Models (LLMs) such as OpenAI and Azure OpenAI.
• Implement multi-step "agentic" solutions that combine reasoning, tools, and data.
• Ensure the reliability, accuracy, and scalability of AI outputs.

Integrate Enterprise Systems

• Connect AI solutions to internal systems through APIs.
• Design and implement REST API integrations, including authentication and data exchange protocols.
• Work with both structured and unstructured data from various sources.

Translate Business Problems into Solutions

• Collaborate with Payroll Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to understand and address real-world challenges.
• Deconstruct complex problems into scalable AI and API architectures.
• Deliver production-ready solutions, moving beyond prototypes.

Enable & Mentor Talent

• Support the upskilling of selected payroll professionals into AI engineers.
• Provide guidance, conduct code reviews, and promote best practices.
• Contribute to the development of internal AI engineering capabilities.

Ensure Engineering Best Practices

• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
• Implement robust error handling, logging, and debugging practices.
• Contribute to reusable components and scalable design patterns.

• 4–6 years of experience in software engineering or related roles.
• Proven experience building real-world solutions, not just prototypes or academic projects.

Must-Have Skills:

• Strong Python development skills, including hands-on experience with APIs (REST APIs, authentication, OAuth, tokens) and system integration.
• Experience with LLM-based solutions (e.g., OpenAI, Azure OpenAI) including prompt structuring and tool/function usage.
• Robust problem-solving and system design skills, with the ability to design end-to-end workflows and debug complex, multi-component systems.
• Strong communication skills.

Good-to-Have Skills:

• Experience with agentic frameworks such as LangChain or Semantic Kernel.
• Experience with cloud platforms, preferably Azure.
• Knowledge of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
• Familiarity with databases (SQL/NoSQL).
• Basic frontend or UI development skills for internal tools.
• MS Office proficiency.
