About the Finance AI Solutions Team

Join the Finance Operational Excellence team as an AI Solutions Developer, reporting to the Finance AI Solution Architect. This team is dedicated to scaling AI agents across Finance operations, aligning with the broader AI Strategy to revolutionize Finance team workflows. We operate at the confluence of Finance expertise, data engineering, and cutting-edge AI technologies.

As Global AI Solution Architects for Finance, we collaborate with AI leaders and subject matter experts across various Finance functions including Controllership, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Treasury, Tax, Finance Operations, and Facilities. Our focus extends beyond building AI solutions to ensuring their successful operationalization. We facilitate the handover of AI agents to Finance teams for long-term management and adaptation, incorporating a teaching element into our work. While Engineering partners provide support for complex technical tasks and custom tool development, we primarily deliver solutions using Agentic AI and other advanced AI tools.

We are adept at creatively navigating platform constraints, developing reusable knowledge layers, and empowering Finance teams to independently maintain AI solutions. What You Will Do

In this role, you will collaborate closely with Finance, Product, and Engineering teams to develop and deploy AI-powered automation solutions that transform Finance operations at Stripe. You will independently automate manual processes, design and build AI agents and supporting data solutions using internal platforms, and equip Finance teams with the skills to maintain these solutions long-term.

Engage actively with Finance subject matter experts to understand their workflows, translate requirements into robust technical solutions, and refine implementations based on feedback. When platform limitations arise, you will devise creative workarounds, partner with Engineering to define and test custom tools, and escalate issues strategically as needed. You will also establish reusable components to accelerate the development of future Finance AI use cases.

This position requires a combination of process automation, data operations, technical problem-solving, and stakeholder enablement skills. Your responsibilities will include building AI agents, optimizing data pipelines, developing knowledge layers for enhanced accuracy, and training Finance teams on the usage and maintenance of these solutions. Success will be measured by the ability of Finance teams to independently manage the agents you build, allowing you to focus on new automation opportunities with minimal ongoing support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build and operationalize AI agents for Finance use cases using Agentic Solutions and other automation tools, managing the entire lifecycle from prototype to deployment.
• Design and implement reusable knowledge layers, validation patterns, and data quality frameworks to enhance agent accuracy and reliability across diverse use cases.
• Identify limitations and opportunities within agentic AI; collaborate with Engineering to define requirements for, test, and integrate custom tools and integrations (via MCP) when existing capabilities are insufficient.
• Independently scope automation opportunities, creatively overcome platform constraints using pre-coded tools, query chaining, and validation agents, balancing speed and quality to deliver rapid impact.
• Enable Finance teams through comprehensive training, clear documentation (SOPs, runbooks), and self-service tooling to ensure minimal ongoing support requirements.
• Act as the accountable technical expert, collaborating with Finance SMEs to understand manual processes, translate requirements into technical solutions, and iterate based on feedback.
• Write and optimize SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and validation that support agent workflows, ensuring data quality and accuracy for Finance use cases.
• Establish monitoring and observability for deployed agents, including metrics, alerting, and incident response processes to guarantee reliability.
• Serve as the primary escalation point for technical issues, independently diagnosing problems and collaborating with Engineering for solutions requiring deeper platform changes.
• Document learnings, patterns, and best practices in news bulletins for reuse across the Finance AI portfolio, contributing to organizational knowledge and scaling impact.

Who You Are

We are seeking candidates who meet the minimum qualifications. Preferred qualifications are a plus.

Minimum Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience in Data Analytics, Technical Operations, Business Intelligence, or a related field.
• Experience with emerging AI/LLM tools, conversational interfaces, prompt engineering, or automation platforms and RPA.
• Proficiency in SQL, including complex queries, CTEs, window functions, and joins for data analysis and pipeline logic.
• Experience with automation via low-code tools, scripting, workflow automation, or building custom integrations, coupled with a desire to learn evolving tools.
• A proven ability to independently scope and deliver technical solutions for process improvement, demonstrating self-sufficiency and ownership.
• Strong analytical and investigative skills to identify root causes of data issues, debug complex problems, and resolve inconsistencies.
• Understanding of software development best practices, including version control, testing, code reviews, and iterative development.
• Familiarity with modern data tools such as Python, Databricks, ETL/ELT processes, data pipelines, and AI-assisted coding.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Model Context Protocol (MCP) or similar extensibility frameworks.
• Background in Finance Operations, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Accounting, Treasury, or Payments.
• Experience navigating the complexities of financial systems (accounting, reporting, reconciliation, payments) and understanding data flow.
• Experience working in high-growth technology companies with rapidly evolving processes and tools.

Note on Technical Depth: This role requires working at the intersection of no-code AI tools and custom development. While deep software engineering expertise is not a prerequisite, comfort with learning technical concepts, collaborating closely with Engineering teams, and utilizing AI-assisted development tools to extend platform capabilities is essential.
