Project Role: AI / ML Engineer

Project Role Description: Develops applications and systems that utilize AI tools and Cloud AI services, with a proper cloud or on-prem application pipeline built for production-ready quality. This role requires the ability to apply Generative AI (GenAI) models as part of the solution, and may also include deep learning, neural networks, chatbots, and image processing.

Summary

As the Senior Lead for the AI Acceleration Hub team in Pune, you will spearhead the strategic build-up and growth of a 50-member team dedicated to delivering high-impact AI products. You will be responsible for bridging cultural, operational, and strategic gaps while safeguarding successful project execution and driving business outcomes. A start-up mindset will be instrumental in empowering the team to scale and deliver results that align with organizational goals.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Drive the development of the AI acceleration hub team, aligning its AI product delivery with organizational objectives.
• Foster an entrepreneurial culture that embraces innovation, agility, and responsiveness to changing business needs.
• Lead the recruitment, training, and development of a diverse team of Data/ML engineers and software developers.
• Set clear objectives and performance metrics for the team, ensuring alignment with business outcomes.
• Facilitate effective communication and understanding between the Indian and Swiss teams by addressing cultural differences and promoting a win-win momentum.
• Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of AI projects, ensuring they meet quality, timeline, and budgetary requirements.
• Implement best practices for project management to ensure transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Encourage innovative approaches to problem-solving within the team, keeping abreast of the latest AI trends and technologies.

Professional & Technical Skills

• Extensive experience in leading AI or tech teams, preferably in a cross-cultural environment.
• 18 years or more of professional experience in data processing and technology.
• Extensive experience in data modeling, data engineering, process automation, and creation of self-services.
• Vision to leverage GenAI for data operations and automations, coupled with knowledge of the cloud ecosystem (preferably AWS).
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Java, with a strong understanding of scripting and automation.
