AI Engineering Lead

Role Overview

The AI Engineering Lead will establish and drive AI-first engineering practices across multiple development teams, ensuring engineers use approved agentic AI tools effectively, securely, and consistently. This role combines strong OutSystems technical expertise with hands-on experience in agentic coding, enforcing human review controls, CI/CD quality gates, team coaching, and measuring AI-driven productivity.

Key Responsibilities

• Define AI-first engineering standards, playbooks, prompt/context libraries, and agent rules.
• Establish mandatory human review gates and Definition of Done requirements for all AI-generated code, tests, and documentation.
• Drive adoption of agentic coding tools across OutSystems teams.
• Integrate AI-related quality checks into CI/CD pipelines.
• Coach developers on AI-assisted engineering practices.
• Develop upskilling plans to enable the team for future AI workflows.
• Track metrics including adoption rates, delivery improvements, rework, defect rates, and review effort.
• Create feedback loops to continuously improve prompts, agent workflows, standards, and output quality.

Mandatory Skills & Experience

• 8+ years of overall experience, with 5+ years specifically in OutSystems.
• Strong architecture and development knowledge within the OutSystems platform.
• At least 1.5 years of hands-on AI-assisted delivery using agentic coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor).
• Proven experience implementing AI engineering standards for teams.
• Skill in establishing code-review standards and quality gates for AI-generated output.
• Knowledge of CI/CD integration with automated quality checks.
