AI Engineer

Role Overview
As an AI Engineer, you will be a key contributor in designing and delivering highly scalable, next-generation AI products within our core stack. You will collaborate with talented peers to shape product planning, design, and execution while influencing the evolution of Teradata's AI capabilities.

Your Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality systems emphasizing scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver end-to-end features.
• Build robust RESTful APIs ensuring security and data consistency.
• Work with SQL/NoSQL databases for efficient data modeling.
• Apply AI/ML technologies including agentic AI and Large Language Models (LLMs).
• Leverage AI-powered engineering tools to boost productivity.
• Mentor engineers in technical planning and best practices.
• Optimize system performance by resolving bottlenecks.
• Ensure code quality through unit testing, integration tests, and code reviews.

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• 2+ years of experience in backend services or distributed systems development.
• Strong proficiency in Java, Go, or Python.
• Understanding of design principles and distributed system patterns.
• Hands-on experience designing RESTful APIs.
• Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases.
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration.
• Familiarity with public cloud platforms.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with messaging systems like Kafka.
• Hands-on experience with Agentic AI or LLMs.
• Proactive mindset in fast-paced environments.
