The Opportunity: Backend Python Developer - Shape AI Products in Bengaluru
This is more than a standard backend role; it's a chance to influence product development from inception. As a Backend Python Developer at JuiceLabs, you will be instrumental in building scalable systems, exploring cutting-edge AI tools, and rapidly prototyping features, often with AI at their core. Reporting directly to our Cofounder/CTO, you will have significant ownership in shaping new products. We seek engineers adept at understanding algorithmic complexity, optimizing data-intensive pipelines, and making critical performance and scalability trade-offs. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, value clean architecture, are excited by building with LLMs, and can anticipate scalability issues, this role in Bengaluru is for you.

Responsibilities:

• Build Core Infrastructure: Design and implement robust backend systems using Python (FastAPI), cloud platforms (GCP/AWS), and databases (Postgres). Architect efficient data pipelines for large datasets, select optimal data structures for caching and indexing, and develop algorithms that scale.
• Own Project Lifecycle: Manage projects end-to-end, from initial ideation and design through to deployment, monitoring, and continuous iteration.
• Collaborate with Leadership: Work closely with the CTO to co-create innovative product experiences that blend backend expertise with AI capabilities.
• Innovate and Prototype: Translate novel ideas into functional prototypes and bring these prototypes to production, actively contributing to the company's next breakthroughs.
• Leverage AI: Integrate Generative AI APIs and frameworks to prototype and build advanced features, including pipelines, agentic workflows, image/video generation, and autonomous agents.

Qualifications:

• Strong Data Structures & Algorithms: Deep understanding of DSA principles and their application to real-world problems, including optimizing data pipelines, choosing scalable data structures, and analyzing complexity trade-offs. Ability to explain system performance at scale.
• Python Proficiency: Expertise in writing clean, idiomatic Python, including experience with backend frameworks, testing methodologies, and deployment pipelines.
• Production Experience: Proven track record of deploying and managing real-world systems. Skills in code profiling, query optimization, caching strategies, Docker, CI/CD, and cloud infrastructure are essential.
• High Ownership Mentality: Proactive, self-driven, and accountable. Comfortable with autonomy and taking initiative without constant direction.
• Startup Acumen: Ability to build rapidly, adapt to changing needs, and balance immediate delivery with long-term scalability considerations.
• AI Enthusiasm: Demonstrated interest or experience with LLMs, GenAI tools, open-source models, or custom AI projects. Sharing details of personal AI projects is encouraged.
