About the Role
We are hiring a Backend Engineer (HMS) for MedOrbit, an AI-Native Hospital Platform currently live with paying customers. This is not just maintenance work; you will build the core backend powering clinical and operational workflows for doctors, nurses, lab technicians, pharmacists, and billing teams.
About MedOrbit
MedOrbit (by AI Nexus Innovations Hub) serves 24 facility types—from solo clinics to large hospitals—using a single codebase. It manages OPD/IPD/OT, LIS/RIS/PACS, teleradiology, pharmacy, billing, and insurance workflows. The platform is ABDM-integrated (ABHA, FHIR R4), NHCX-connected for claims, HL7/DICOM interoperable, and compliant with NABH/NABL standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Core HMS Modules: Build Java/Spring Boot microservices for patient registration, OPD/IPD workflows, bed management, lab orders, pharmacy inventory, billing, and claims. Design scalable REST APIs and database schemas supporting multi-tenant data isolation.
- Healthcare Integrations: Implement ABDM flows (ABHA linking, consent), manage FHIR R4 resources/HL7 messages/DICOM integration, and support NHCX claim submissions.
- AI Integration: Integrate Python-based AI services (ambient scribe, lab intelligence) into workflows via secure APIs and audit trails with clinician approval logging.
- Reliability & Compliance: Write tests, fix production issues, build role-based access control/audit logs for DPDP compliance, and optimize queries for high-volume environments.
Tech Stack
Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate/JPA, PostgreSQL/MySQL, Redis, Kafka/RabbitMQ, Python (AI services), Docker, AWS, Git, CI/CD.
Requirements
- B.Tech/M.Tech in CS or related field (2024–2026 batches welcome).
- Mandatory: Hands-on experience building HMS/EHR/LIS/pharmacy software with knowledge of hospital workflows.
- Strong fundamentals in Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, SQL, and data modeling.
Nice-to-Have
FHIR/HL7/DICOM exposure, Microservices/Kafka experience, AWS skills, Python integration basics, or frontend knowledge (React/Angular).
