AI Automation Engineer (Copilot & Power Platform)

Prime 8 Consulting is seeking a mid-level AI Solutions Developer to architect, build, and deploy robust Microsoft Copilot Studio and Power Platform solutions within enterprise settings across the United States. This is a hands-on, execution-focused position designed for individuals who excel at independent delivery in a consulting environment.

You will be responsible for translating complex business requirements into functional, production-ready Copilot agents and automation workflows that seamlessly integrate with Microsoft 365 and various external enterprise systems. This role emphasizes building and shipping solutions rather than enterprise architecture or pure research.

Key Responsibilities:

• Copilot & AI Implementation: Design, develop, and deploy custom Copilot Studio agents. Integrate agents with enterprise data sources like SharePoint, Dataverse, SQL, and other approved systems. Configure actions to trigger Power Automate workflows and optimize conversational logic, prompts, and orchestration for real-world business scenarios. Troubleshoot data connection, authentication, and grounding issues.
• Advanced Power Platform & Automation: Construct and maintain sophisticated Power Automate workflows, including multi-system integrations, exception handling, and approval processes. Develop Power Apps solutions with integrated AI components. Create and manage reusable automation assets and custom connectors. Contribute to Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) practices, including solution packaging and Dev/Test/Prod promotion. Optimize automation performance in production environments.
• Enterprise Integration: Build secure REST API integrations and custom connectors. Utilize the Microsoft Graph API and enterprise identity services. Configure authentication, permissions, and token handling for external system integrations. Integrate Copilot and automation solutions with key enterprise systems such as Dynamics, Salesforce, ERP, HRIS, ServiceNow, and internal applications. Document integration patterns and technical decisions.
• Delivery & Collaboration: Translate business needs into effective technical solutions. Actively participate in client working sessions and solution design discussions. Independently deliver production-ready components. Collaborate with senior architects on complex solution designs. Support junior developers by sharing best practices in workflow and integration development.

Required Qualifications:

• 4–6 years of experience in software development, automation, or enterprise systems.
• Minimum of 2 years of hands-on Power Platform experience, with a strong emphasis on Power Automate.
• Proven experience deploying Microsoft Copilot Studio agents into production environments.
• Demonstrated ability to independently configure Copilot data connections (SharePoint, Dataverse, SQL).
• Experience integrating enterprise systems using REST APIs and custom connectors.
• Working knowledge of the Microsoft Graph API.
• Familiarity with Azure identity services (app registrations, authentication flows, permissions).
• Experience delivering production-grade automation solutions.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to independently manage scoped technical deliverables.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in consulting or client-facing delivery roles.
• Relevant Microsoft certifications (e.g., PL-400, AI-102, AZ-204).
• Experience contributing to Power Platform ALM strategies.
• Understanding of governance and compliance within the Microsoft 365 ecosystem.

This Role Is: A hands-on Copilot and automation builder focused on production deployment and enterprise integration, ideal for an independent executor within a client delivery environment.

This Role Is Not: An enterprise AI architect, platform strategy owner, research or ML engineering role, or a junior role heavily focused on training and mentorship.
