Accountant

SoTalent is actively seeking a highly organized and meticulous Staff Accountant to join their team on-site in Portland, Oregon. This pivotal role is instrumental in ensuring the smooth and effective functioning of the accounting department. Responsibilities include meticulous financial reporting, accurate account reconciliations, and supporting audit processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute all balance sheet reconciliations with precision.
• Prepare and post month-end journal entries accurately and timely.
• Manage fixed asset records in adherence to Sysco FAMM standards and process approvals for new acquisitions.
• Conduct thorough variance analysis, comparing results against plan, forecast, and prior year performance.
• Perform detailed customer profitability analysis to identify key trends and opportunities.
• Generate and deliver daily/weekly financial reports and weekly forecast estimates.
• Present comprehensive monthly financial results to site leadership.
• Participate in physical inventory counts one Saturday per month on a rotating basis.
• Assist in the creation, maintenance, and closing of purchase orders (POs).
• Support the strategic development of the annual growth plan.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent practical experience.
• 3 to 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
• In-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Demonstrated experience in journal entry preparation and monthly account reconciliations.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to build comparative analysis files for variance to plan/forecast analysis.
• Strong 10-key and data entry accuracy.
