Full Job Description
Deque Systems is seeking a passionate Accessibility Consultant to join our team in Hyderabad, Telangana. This role involves providing comprehensive WCAG 2.0/2.1 A/AA accessibility testing, design reviews, and consulting services to clients. You will collaborate with customers and the Deque team to identify and resolve accessibility issues, ensuring high-value digital accessibility solutions. Primary Responsibilities
- Conduct WCAG 2.0, 2.1 Level A/AA, WCAG 2.2 level AA, and Section 508 assessments using the Deque Way methodology.
- Accurately identify and clearly document accessibility issues and remediation recommendations.
- Demonstrate proficiency with Deque Software Tools, including setting up axe Auditor test cases, running axe DevTools Pro, and interpreting axe Monitor scan results.
- Respond to developer, designer, and content contributor inquiries regarding accessibility requirements.
- Perform other assigned duties as needed.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of professional digital accessibility testing experience.
- Proven experience assessing web pages for WCAG 2.1 A/AA and WCAG 2.2 level AA conformance.
- Intermediate proficiency in screen reader testing with NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, or TalkBack.
- Intermediate/advanced understanding of HTML and CSS.
- Intermediate knowledge of ARIA.
- Basic understanding of JavaScript's impact on the DOM and accessibility.
- Experience writing accessibility remediation recommendations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Additional Skills
- 3+ years of professional digital accessibility testing experience.
- Experience evaluating web pages against Section 508 conformance and/or EN 301 549 (EU) conformance.
- Experience testing native mobile apps for accessibility.
- Experience testing digital documents (PDF, Microsoft Office) for accessibility.
- Experience authoring VPATs.
- Ability to discuss technical issues and recommendations with clients.
- Detailed knowledge of Deque Software Tools (axe, axe Expert, axe Auditor, and axe Monitor).
- Familiarity with agile web development processes, technologies, and tools.
- IAAP Certifications/Credentials such as CPACC, WAS, or ADS are a plus.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
