In this role, you will be instrumental in creating and improving standard designs for locomotive control systems, alongside testing and commissioning TCMS (Train Control & Management System) at various locomotive sheds and customer locations. You will design and develop TCMS solutions for diverse railway projects, contributing to the Motion Traction Division. This is an #Li - Onsite role based in Bangalore.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop the TCMS architecture, electrical schematics, and software for Indian Railway locomotive projects.
- Derive TCMS designs based on project requirements and customer specifications.
- Document TCMS design requirements using standard tools.
- Validate implemented requirements on simulators and prepare validation reports.
- Generate Bill of Materials (BOM) for TCMS, document existing locomotive TCMS architectures, and project documents.
- Prepare customer and project documents for new projects.
- Contribute to cost-saving initiatives and new vendor assessments/qualifications.
- Support the sales team with requirement analysis, architectural changes, effort estimations, and documentation for new projects.
- Coordinate with manufacturing and testing teams to ensure proper fabrication, staging, and testing of TCMS cabinets, updating engineering deliverables to reflect as-built configurations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or Controls Engineering.
- 2 to 5 years of experience in TCMS Engineering, preferably within the railway sector.
- Programming experience in IEC 61131-3 for TCMS projects or railway subsystems.
- Strong application knowledge of three-phase electric locomotives, propulsion converters, auxiliary converters, and communication protocols such as CAN, MVB, and WTB.
- Hands-on experience with TCMS equipment programming and configuration, including Driver Display Units (DDUs), Vehicle Control Units (VCUs), WTB gateways, DPWCS, RMS, and Remote I/O modules.
- Experience working on locomotives, particularly for Indian Railways, is advantageous.
