Your Role and Responsibilities

In this role, you will be instrumental in creating and improving standard designs for locomotive control systems. You will be responsible for the testing and commissioning of TCMS (Train Control & Management System) at various locomotive sheds and customer locations. This position offers the opportunity to design and develop comprehensive TCMS solutions for diverse railway projects.

Accountabilities:

• Design and Development of the TCMS architecture, electrical schematics, and software tailored for Indian Railway locomotive projects.
• Derive TCMS designs by thoroughly analyzing project requirements and customer specifications for locomotives.
• Document TCMS design requirements using standard tools.
• Validate implemented requirements on simulators and prepare comprehensive validation reports.
• Generate the Bill of Materials (BOM) for the TCMS, document existing locomotive TCMS architectures, and maintain project documentation.
• Prepare customer and project-specific documents for new projects.
• Contribute to cost-saving initiatives and participate in new vendor assessments and qualifications.
• Support the sales team by conducting requirement analysis, proposing architectural changes, estimating effort, and preparing documentation for new projects.
• Coordinate with manufacturing and testing teams to ensure the proper fabrication, staging, and testing of TCMS cabinets, and update engineering deliverables to reflect 'as-built' status.

Qualifications for the Role (Mandatory)

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or Controls Engineering.
• 2 to 5 years of experience in TCMS Engineering, preferably applied to railway products.
• Programming experience in IEC 61131-3 for any TCMS project or railway subsystem.
• Good application knowledge of three-phase electric locomotives, propulsion converters, auxiliary converters, and communication protocols such as CAN (Control Area Network), MVB (Multifunction Vehicle Bus), WTB (Wire Train Bus), etc.
• Working experience with programming/configuration of TCMS equipment including Driver Display Units (DDU), Vehicle Control Units (VCU), WTB gateways, Wireless Gateways (DPWCS), Remote Monitoring Systems (RMS), and Remote I/O modules.
• Working experience on locomotives, particularly for Indian Railways, will be advantageous.
