TCMS Engineer
Full Job Description
We are seeking a skilled TCMS Engineer to join our Motion Traction Division in Bangalore. This onsite role involves creating and refining standard designs for locomotive control systems, along with the testing and commissioning of TCMS (Train Control and Management System) at various locomotive sheds and customer locations across India. You will be instrumental in designing and developing TCMS solutions for diverse railway projects, ensuring adherence to project requirements and customer specifications. Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing and developing TCMS architecture, electrical schematics, and software for Indian Railway locomotive projects.
- Deriving TCMS designs based on project requirements and customer specifications.
- Documenting TCMS design requirements using standard tools.
- Validating implemented requirements on simulators and preparing validation reports.
- Realizing the Bill of Materials (BOM) for TCMS, understanding existing locomotive TCMS architectures, and documenting various project aspects.
- Preparing customer and project documentation for new projects.
- Contributing to cost-saving initiatives and assessing/qualifying new vendors.
- Supporting the sales team with requirement analysis, architectural changes, effort estimations, and documentation for new projects.
- Coordinating with manufacturing and testing teams to ensure proper production and staging of TCMS cabinets and updating engineering deliverables to reflect 'as-built' configurations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or Controls Engineering.
- 2 to 5 years of experience in TCMS Engineering, preferably applied to railway products.
- Programming experience in IEC 61131-3 for TCMS projects or railway subsystems.
- Strong application knowledge of three-phase electric locomotives, propulsion converters, auxiliary converters, and communication protocols such as CAN, MVB, and WTB.
- Working experience with TCMS equipment programming/configuration, including Driver Display Units (DDUs), Vehicle Control Units (VCUs), WTB gateways, Wireless Gateways (DPWCS), Remote Monitoring Systems (RMS), and Remote I/O modules.
- Prior working experience on locomotives, especially for Indian Railways, is highly advantageous.
