TCMS Engineer

We are seeking a skilled TCMS Engineer to join our Motion Traction Division in Bengaluru. In this onsite role, you will be instrumental in creating and improving standard designs for locomotive control systems. Your responsibilities will include the design, development, and testing of TCMS (Train Control & Management System) solutions for various railway projects. This involves designing the TCMS architecture, electrical schematics, and software for Indian Railway's locomotive projects, deriving designs from project requirements and customer specifications, and documenting these requirements. You will also validate implemented requirements on simulators, prepare validation reports, and manage the Bill of Materials (BOM) and existing TCMS documentation. Furthermore, you will prepare customer and project documents, participate in cost-saving initiatives and vendor assessments, and support the sales team with requirement analysis and effort estimations. Coordination with manufacturing and testing functions to ensure proper production and testing of TCMS cabinets is also a key part of this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design & Development of TCMS architecture, electrical schematics & software for Indian Railway locomotive projects.
• Derive TCMS design based on project requirements/customer specifications.
• Document TCMS design requirements using standard tools.
• Validate implemented requirements on simulator and prepare validation reports.
• Realize TCMS BOM, existing TCMS architecture and documents.
• Prepare customer and project documents for new projects.
• Participate in cost saving initiatives and new vendor assessment/qualifications.
• Support sales team with requirement analysis, architectural changes, effort estimation, and documentation for new projects.
• Coordinate with manufacturing and testing for TCMS cabinet production and testing, updating engineering deliverables as built.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's/Master's degree in Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation / Controls Engineering.
• 2 to 5 years of experience in TCMS Engineering, preferably applied to Railway products.
• Programming experience in IEC 61131-3 for TCMS projects/railway subsystems.
• Good application knowledge of three-phase electric locomotives, propulsion converters, auxiliary converters, and communication protocols such as CAN, MVB, WTB.
• Working experience on programming/configuration of TCMS equipment: DDU, VCU, WTB gateways, DPWCS, RMS, Remote I/O modules.
• Working experience on locomotives, especially for Indian Railway, is a strong asset.
