Amazon is actively seeking a highly innovative and solution-oriented System Development Engineer to join the dynamic Amazon Leo team. This role is pivotal in delivering reliable internet access through a cutting-edge satellite broadband network. You will be instrumental in developing automated pipelines and robust solutions for SCADA infrastructure, prioritizing an optimal developer experience and unwavering system reliability. This position is based in Kirkland, WA.
Key responsibilities include designing and implementing scalable backend infrastructure for Ignition SCADA platform deployments, developing CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code using modern DevOps practices for SCADA system provisioning, and building automated deployment frameworks and configuration tools for Ignition SCADA applications. You will architect cloud-native and hybrid infrastructure solutions that support OT/IT convergence and SCADA scalability. Furthermore, you will develop essential backend services, APIs, and data integration layers to support SCADA applications and manufacturing interoperability. Creating comprehensive infrastructure monitoring, logging, and observability solutions is crucial for maintaining SCADA platform health and performance. You will also implement stringent security frameworks and compliance controls for OT infrastructure, adhering to industry best practices. Building self-service infrastructure provisioning tools and maintaining thorough technical documentation for deployment procedures will be integral. Leading technical troubleshooting and root cause analysis for infrastructure issues impacting SCADA availability, supporting operations through infrastructure automation to reduce manual intervention and enhance reliability, and driving continuous improvement for infrastructure deployment speed, reliability, and cost optimization are also key. Collaboration with production, engineering, IT, and procurement teams, along with managing escalations and coordinating incident resolution, will be a daily part of this role.
