Structural Design Intern - GPLA

GPLA Structural Engineers and Builders, a proud member of the DPR family, is seeking a motivated Structural Design Intern to join our team in Austin, TX. This internship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to impactful projects, transforming conceptual designs into detailed structural plans and specifications. You will gain hands-on experience utilizing cutting-edge CAD software and immerse yourself in a variety of structural design tasks, including drafting, miscellaneous design, conceptual studies, and detailing for structural steel and reinforcing elements. Responsibilities include assisting in the creation and revision of calculations, drawings, and specifications from initial concept through construction documents, and supporting construction administration under expert supervision. Collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and drafters to translate design visions into robust structural solutions for buildings, bridges, and other vital infrastructure. You will also perform critical calculations and analyses to ensure structural integrity and adherence to all building codes and regulations. This role is ideal for a student pursuing a BA or Master's in Structural Engineering who is eager to learn, grow, and make a tangible contribution in a dynamic engineering environment.
