About the Role:
As a Staff Site Reliability Engineer at Okta, you will be instrumental in designing, building, and operating highly scalable, reliable, and secure infrastructure powering our production systems across AWS and GCP. You will lead major reliability and modernization initiatives, including container platform migrations, and serve as a technical authority in Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and operate highly scalable, reliable, and secure infrastructure.
- Lead reliability and modernization initiatives.
- Serve as technical authority in Kubernetes (EKS and GKE) and cloud infrastructure (AWS and GCP).
- Partner with development teams to architect microservice-based applications.
- Implement and manage infrastructure as code.
- Drive improvements in observability, performance, and cost efficiency.
- Champion SRE best practices, defining SLOs/SLIs.
- Lead complex technical projects.
- Mentor engineers.
- Collaborate with security and compliance partners.
- Participate in the on-call rotation.
Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience in SRE, DevOps, or Infrastructure Engineering roles.
- 3–5 years of Kubernetes (EKS/GKE) experience.
- 3–5 years of experience with AWS and GCP.
- 3–5 years using Terraform.
- 5+ years of coding experience in Python, Go, or similar languages.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
