About the Role:

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior PHP Developer with a strong background in WordPress and WooCommerce to join our on-site team in Tilak Nagar, Delhi. This role is for a senior engineer who thinks beyond code, enjoys solving real customer problems, and has experience with production-level WordPress plugins or SaaS products. You will take ownership of both development and troubleshooting, drive architectural decisions, mentor team members, and shape products that impact thousands of businesses. We are looking for someone who combines deep technical expertise with product thinking.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plugin and Feature Development: Build and maintain WordPress plugins, own architecture decisions for complex features, and collaborate with the Product team to translate requirements into high-quality code.
• WooCommerce Integration: Develop custom solutions and features for WooCommerce stores using WordPress hooks (actions & filters).
• Troubleshooting and Stability: Monitor product behavior, debug complex cross-system issues and performance bottlenecks, ensure smooth upgrades, and perform root-cause analysis.
• Product Improvement: Design scalable solutions, analyze support tickets to identify patterns, and collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to implement improvements.
• Code Management: Manage code using Git, maintain clean and secure codebases, follow best practices, and conduct code reviews.
• AI-Assisted Development: Utilize AI tools like Cursor AI for code assistance, security checks, and snippet creation to enhance development speed and quality.
• QA and Testing: Create clear use cases for QA testing and collaborate closely with QA to ensure thorough testing.
• Internal Support: Assist Customer Success Engineers with technical guidance and resolve L2 support tickets for FunnelKit Checkout, Cart, and Bump.
• CSS and Template Development: Develop and maintain responsive, cross-browser compatible CSS and templates.

Required Skills and Experience:

• 5+ years of hands-on WordPress development.
• Strong experience with WordPress Core, Plugin Development, and WooCommerce internals (APIs & customisations).
• Mastery of PHP (expert-level OOP, design patterns, SOLID principles).
• Proficiency with WordPress hooks (actions, filters, and custom hooks).
• Advanced MySQL skills, query optimization, and custom table design.
• Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.
• Expertise in security best practices (preventing SQL injection, XSS, CSRF).
• Experience working on product-based WordPress plugins or SaaS.
• Strong understanding of order, checkout flows, and extensibility points.
• Proficient with Git version control.
• Performance optimization experience.
• Technical leadership skills (code review, mentoring, architecture).
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work on-site from our Delhi office.

• Payment gateway integration and debugging.
• Background processing and job scheduling.
• REST API design and development.
• Multi-currency or internationalisation experience.
• Subscription/recurring billing systems knowledge.
• Experience with AI tools for development, especially Agentic AI systems and Claude Code.
