About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer with 4–8 years of professional experience in building scalable, resilient, and secure backend platforms. This pivotal role demands strong backend engineering fundamentals coupled with hands-on expertise in cloud infrastructure and the DevOps ecosystem.

You will be instrumental in architecting distributed systems, significantly improving performance across various services, and enhancing overall infrastructure reliability. Key Responsibilities

Backend Architecture & Development

• Design and implement highly scalable backend services, robust APIs, and sophisticated microservices.
• Translate complex business and product requirements into clean, maintainable, and efficient system designs.
• Construct fault-tolerant, high-availability systems capable of handling significant scale.
• Optimize database queries, caching layers, and service performance to ensure peak efficiency.
• Uphold code quality through rigorous structured reviews and adherence to engineering standards.
• Mentor junior developers and actively contribute to architectural discussions.

System Reliability & Performance

• Implement comprehensive observability standards, including logging, monitoring, and alerting.
• Proactively troubleshoot production issues and drive permanent, scalable solutions.
• Improve system throughput, reduce latency, and enhance overall reliability.
• Design for horizontal scalability and optimal performance under various load conditions.

Infrastructure & Cloud Engineering

• Deploy and manage applications across leading public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Work proficiently with containerized environments using Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or equivalents).
• Enhance CI/CD pipelines to facilitate automated builds, testing, and seamless deployments.
• Implement robust disaster recovery strategies and ensure production stability.

Collaboration & Delivery

• Collaborate cross-functionally with frontend, product, QA, and DevOps teams.
• Actively participate in sprint planning, technical estimations, and delivery cycles.
• Contribute to comprehensive documentation, technical decision records, and knowledge sharing initiatives.
• Champion secure coding practices and compliance standards.

Technical Expertise Required

Backend Stack

• Proficiency in one or more backend languages: Java, Python, Node.js, or Go.
• Strong understanding of RESTful API design and distributed system principles.
• Solid grasp of data structures, algorithms, and fundamental system design.
• Experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Redis).
• Familiarity with event-driven systems and messaging platforms (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ).
• Implementation experience with authentication and authorization standards (OAuth, JWT).
• Experience with caching strategies, performance tuning, and scalability patterns.
• Exposure to backend testing frameworks and Test-Driven Development (TDD) practices.

Cloud & DevOps Stack

• Hands-on experience with public cloud infrastructure: AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI).
• Monitoring and logging setup using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK stack.
• Understanding of networking fundamentals, load balancing, and CDN principles.

Qualifications

• 4–8 years of professional experience in backend engineering.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience building and scaling production-grade systems.
• Strong analytical and debugging skills.
• Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

• Experience with Domain-Driven Design (DDD).
