Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, a premier international law firm headquartered in New York, United States, is seeking a dynamic Specialist, Business Development to join our esteemed team. This role is instrumental in elevating our market presence and driving business expansion through adept client relationship management and the execution of targeted acquisition strategies. The ideal candidate will contribute to the growth of our International Manufacturing Group (IMG) and Real Estate practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the end-to-end process of developing RFPs, proposals, and pitches for new business opportunities, collaborating closely with practice-based pitch teams, partners, and senior management.
- Continuously refine and enhance existing templates and content to optimize the quality and design of all pitch and proposal materials.
- Cultivate a comprehensive understanding of Skadden’s business operations, taking ownership of pitch and presentation content by crafting compelling narratives that highlight our unique credentials, competitive advantages, and value proposition.
- Generate and manage tailored experience lists using the Firm's proprietary database, working with the Experience team to ensure accurate and up-to-date attorney biographies and firm credentials.
- Maintain and update essential documentation, including awards, client testimonials, deal master lists, practice area descriptions, and marketing collateral.
- Support strategic new client acquisition initiatives by identifying target markets and optimal engagement pathways.
- Assist in identifying cross-selling opportunities within the existing client base and drive campaigns to deepen client relationships.
- Collaborate with the Marketing and Global PR teams to enhance the internal and external visibility of the IMG and Real Estate practices through various channels, including speaking events, sponsorships, public relations, and social media.
- Identify and secure profile-raising opportunities for partners, maximizing the impact of sponsorships and speaking engagements.
- Contribute to thought leadership initiatives by monitoring industry trends and collaborating with attorneys and the editorial team on client mailings and articles.
- Assist in the strategic planning and execution of client events and speaking engagements, ensuring seamless coordination with internal teams.
- Analyze attendee data and prepare customized materials to foster meaningful engagement at events.
- Support attorney follow-up activities and meticulously track outcomes in the CRM system to ensure effective event management and client relationship development.
- Adhere to best practices and Firm Core Values to ensure operational efficiency, exceptional customer service, and positive employee relations.
- Develop and disseminate departmental guidelines and procedures to ensure prompt and accurate service delivery.
- Utilize strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills to foster effective working relationships.
- Manage Firm resources prudently and responsibly.
- Maintain regular and reliable physical presence to facilitate teamwork, client meetings, and equipment utilization.
- Comply with and understand all Firm operations, policies, and procedures.
